Axe Recruiting has been retained by a longstanding industry leader in the steel fabrication space to identify and secure three high-caliber Estimation Engineers for a strategically critical expansion initiative. These roles are based in the United Arab Emirates and will play a vital part in shaping competitive tenders for large-scale structural projects across the GCC and international markets.

Role Purpose

Reporting directly to the Tendering Manager, the Estimation Engineers will be responsible for delivering accurate, data-driven cost assessments, managing the bid preparation process, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure each tender submission reflects both technical excellence and commercial competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.

• Review and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure alignment with technical requirements and cost targets.

• Develop and maintain cost databases reflecting current market pricing and steel grade variations.

• Prepare comprehensive bid packages, technical documents, and supporting material for tender submissions.

• Collaborate with internal departments—design, procurement, project management—to consolidate technical data and ensure accuracy.

• Assess design modifications and generate variation reports as needed.

• Contribute to the preparation of pre-qualification documentation and material submittals.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Structural).

• Minimum of 5 years of UAE-based experience in steel fabrication and estimation.

• Proven understanding of steel grades, fabrication methods, and GCC industry standards.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software tools.

• Strong command of English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with an exceptional capacity to manage timelines under pressure.

Evaluation Criteria – Candidates Must Be Able To:

1. Accurately calculate quantities for steel structures based on technical drawings.

2. Identify and quantify variations in scope for steel and metal works.

3. Demonstrate market awareness of steel material pricing and grade specifications.

4. Offer strategic input to improve the success rate of bids.

5. Prepare professional documentation for pre-qualification and material submittals.
