On behalf of one of our trusted partners—a high-growth, acquisition-focused healthcare organization—Axe Recruiting is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy, M&A execution, and operational financial oversight during a critical inflection point in their national expansion.
This mandate is tailored for a finance executive with a sharp lens on healthcare operations, who has helped scale organizations through rigorous financial governance, data-driven leadership, and precision execution. The successful candidate will help build the financial infrastructure of a multi-site, modern healthcare platform—and will be groomed for a potential transition into a full-time Chief Financial Officer role.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead end-to-end M&A processes including financial due diligence, underwriting, and integration
Build and refine forecasting models, pro formas, and cash flow analyses to support high-velocity decision-making
Consolidate and standardize reporting systems across a network of mental and behavioral health clinics
Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership on capital allocation, investor communications, and growth planning
Oversee external finance functions including bookkeeping, controllership, and audit partners
Establish scalable frameworks for GAAP accounting, dashboard reporting, and budget governance
What You Bring
Minimum 5+ years of senior finance experience, ideally within healthcare or multi-site operations
Deep understanding of M&A in a healthcare context, including transaction structuring and post-close integration
Command of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and operational finance strategy
Ability to lead and build systems in fast-paced, scaling environments
CPA designation strongly preferred; relevant MBA or financial leadership credentials welcomed
Compensation Structure
Part-Time Annual Range: $200,000 – $300,000 (depending on engagement scope and hours)
