Position Overview
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and follow-up care for adult patients across multiple outpatient clinic locations.
Providers are assigned to one clinic location per workday and will rotate between affiliated clinics throughout the week based on the organization’s clinical schedule.
Working closely with psychiatrists, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional psychiatric care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based psychiatric practices.
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications.
- Conduct follow-up appointments and ongoing psychiatric care.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
- Travel to assigned outpatient clinic locations throughout New York City, Long Island, and the surrounding Tri-State Area.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining exceptional clinical standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner License.
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Current DEA Registration (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum of two (2) years of psychiatric clinical experience.
- Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
- Experience providing psychiatric medication management.
- Excellent clinical judgment and diagnostic abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between assigned clinic locations.
Preferred
- Experience practicing in outpatient psychiatry.
- Experience serving diverse adult patient populations.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Bilingual language skills are considered an asset.

- W-2 Employment
- Monday through Friday
- Daytime schedule
- One assigned outpatient clinic location per workday
- Travel between outpatient clinic locations throughout New York City, Long Island, and the surrounding Tri-State Area
