Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview

Axe Recruiting is partnering with a growing financial services organization to hire a Chief Financial Officer. This executive will lead financial strategy, oversee accounting and reporting, and support operational and strategic initiatives across the organization.

The Chief Financial Officer will work closely with executive leadership to improve financial visibility, build scalable infrastructure, and support business growth. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on operational execution.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity with visibility across the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Lead company-wide financial strategy
• Oversee financial planning and forecasting
• Monitor overall financial performance
• Partner with executive leadership on growth initiatives
• Develop long-term financial roadmap
• Provide strategic financial guidance

Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee accounting and reporting functions
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Develop executive financial dashboards
• Monitor profitability and margins
• Improve financial reporting infrastructure

Operational Finance

• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monitor expenses and financial discipline
• Partner with operational leadership
• Support scaling initiatives
• Improve financial workflows and controls
• Support vendor and contract review

Controls & Governance

• Establish financial controls and policies
• Oversee audit preparation and coordination
• Ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Maintain financial governance structure
• Manage external accounting relationships

Leadership

• Build and lead finance team
• Partner with executive leadership
• Support organizational planning
• Drive financial accountability
• Provide executive-level reporting

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience
• CFO, VP Finance, or senior finance leadership experience
• Strong financial strategy and operational finance background
• Experience building financial infrastructure
• Leadership experience managing finance teams
• Strong financial modeling skills
• Excellent executive communication skills
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial services experience
• Trading or capital markets background
• CPA preferred
• Experience scaling organizations
• Experience working with executive leadership
