- Move as quickly and efficiently as possible. When your company is looking to hire new people, you want to move as quickly as possible. You don’t want to leave a job opening open too long, so the people you want are not available when you need them.
- Write better job descriptions. The way your company’s job descriptions are written is almost more important than location and salary for getting the right kind of person for the job, so think three or four times before posting it online or in print.
- Embrace digital trends and social media. Not only are they ways to advertise your offerings directly through your business’s channels, it’s also great for networking with other savvy professionals looking for jobs.
- Fit the personality to the job. It’s important that your prospective employee has a personality that matches your corporate culture. If they don’t, it may be a case of bad chemistry.
- Improve your interviews. Interviews can sometimes be a bit of a guessing game, so make sure you ask open-ended questions and give the candidate ample time to present their case for joining your team.
- Keep an eye on your reviews. Make sure you’re keeping track of how the people you bring in perform in their roles, and if a certain type of person is not working out, make sure you address this problem before it gets worse.
