Axe Recruiting is currently representing our client in the search for an exceptional psychiatrist (MD/DO) to step into the pivotal role of Associate Medical Director. This is a distinctive opportunity designed for a clinician passionate about shaping innovative mental health strategies, particularly within suicide prevention, personality disorders, and co-occurring conditions.

Role at a Glance: Initially structured as 90% clinical and 10% administrative, this role offers a clearly defined pathway toward leadership, gradually transitioning toward increased administrative responsibilities over time.

Your Impact: As Associate Medical Director, you’ll not only deliver outstanding patient care but also guide and inspire a team of dedicated psychiatric professionals. Working closely alongside senior leadership, you’ll influence clinical practices, optimize patient outcomes, and play an instrumental role in the organization’s strategic growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Clinical Leadership & Oversight: Support and supervise clinical staff to uphold the highest standards of evidence-based psychiatric care and compliance.
  • Direct Patient Care: Manage complex psychiatric cases, perform thorough evaluations, and craft individualized treatment strategies.
  • Collaborative Excellence: Coordinate with psychologists, therapists, and medical professionals to develop integrated, multidisciplinary care plans.
  • Quality & Compliance: Champion adherence to legal, ethical, and professional psychiatric standards across the clinical team.
  • Mentorship & Development: Provide clinical mentorship and supervision, nurturing the growth of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other clinical providers.
  • EMR Proficiency: Ensure precise documentation and oversee the compliance and effective utilization of Electronic Medical Records.
  • Program Innovation: Assist in the strategic development and implementation of initiatives designed to enhance patient care and expand service offerings.

Your Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in New York.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ clinical psychiatric experience, ideally with prior leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable expertise in suicide prevention, personality disorders, and managing co-occurring conditions.
  • Strong competencies in emergency psychiatric care and managing complex cases.
  • Proven proficiency with Electronic Medical Records systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and collaborative abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of psychiatric ethical and legal standards.
  • Experience serving veterans, first responders, or similarly high-risk populations is strongly preferred.
