About the Opportunity
Axe Recruiting is hiring a Calibration Assistant on behalf of a confidential technical services client in the Greater Montreal Area.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is dependable, hands-on, organized, and interested in working in a technical environment. Prior calibration experience is not required. The most important qualities are reliability, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to support a busy technical team.
The Calibration Assistant will help prepare, organize, clean, package, and track equipment as it moves through the service process. This person will support technicians and operations staff by making sure equipment, documentation, and work areas are properly maintained.
This role is ideal for someone who may have experience in a warehouse, shop, lab, shipping and receiving, production, equipment handling, maintenance support, or a similar hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities
The Calibration Assistant will support the technical team with daily operational and equipment-handling tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist technicians with equipment preparation and general support tasks.
- Clean and organize incoming customer equipment.
- Help prepare equipment before and after technical service work.
- Replace basic consumable items such as batteries when required.
- Assist with packaging and unpacking equipment.
- Support shipping, receiving, and equipment movement within the facility.
- Match equipment with the appropriate paperwork or service documentation.
- Help print, organize, and attach service-related documents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with basic visual inspections of equipment.
- Help ensure customer equipment is handled carefully and professionally.
- Support routine checks and general upkeep of lab or service equipment.
- Assist with urgent pickups, deliveries, or internal movement of items when needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and workplace standards.
- Perform other support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
This role is open to candidates who are early in their technical career or looking to enter a more specialized work environment.
Required qualifications include:
- No formal calibration experience required.
- Hands-on work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Comfortable working with tools, equipment, boxes, parts, and documentation.

- Comfortable with physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience would be considered an asset:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, manufacturing, maintenance support, shop work, lab support, production, equipment handling, or technical service.
- Familiarity with basic tools.
- Experience handling customer-owned equipment or products.
- Interest in learning calibration, metrology, technical service, or lab operations.
- Experience working in an environment where accuracy and documentation matter.
Work Environment
This role is based in a technical service environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working around tools, equipment, technical workstations, shipping areas, and service-related materials.
The role may involve lifting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and handling equipment throughout the day. It requires care, consistency, and respect for customer property.
