Role Summary
Professional field role for a developing closer. Begin with inside calling and virtual discovery, then conduct on-site consultations to validate fit and close Backyard Pods. You’ll run a defined playbook, receive active coaching, and hand off cleanly to delivery so installs move without friction.
What You’ll Do
Inside calling & virtual discovery: Same-day first touch on inbound; phone/video discovery to confirm decision makers, timing, scope, and budget.
On-site consultations (Backyard Pods): Assess access, setbacks, utilities; capture photos/notes; align Pod size/options and price; secure documented next steps before leaving site.
Proposals & follow-through: Build optioned proposals (good/better/best), manage objections, set firm decision dates, and keep follow-ups tight.
Close & hand-off: Get signature; finalize scope; transition to permitting/installation with complete notes and realistic expectations.
Pipeline discipline: Maintain accurate CRM stages/activities and a forecast trending toward ±15% by months 3–6.
Educate with integrity: Explain design, permits, inspections, and installation windows without over-promising.
Candidate Profile
Experience: 0–3 years in high-consideration residential sales (solar, roofing, windows/doors, ADU/prefab, design-build) or adjacent in-home closing.
Capabilities: Professional phone/video presence; confident in-home demeanor; organized calendar and clean notes.
Feasibility literacy: Working grasp of zoning basics, setbacks, utilities; good judgment on when to loop in specialists.
Traits: Coachable, accountable, comfortable operating to activity and conversion targets.
Success Metrics (90–180 Days)
Cadence & speed: SLA on speed-to-lead; consistent virtual and on-site volume.
Conversion & velocity: Virtual→On-site, On-site→Proposal, Proposal→Close at team median+; improving consult→close cycle time.
Forecast quality: Trending to ±15% against monthly commit.
Delivery alignment: Clear scopes; installation starts within planned windows; positive homeowner feedback.
Compensation Mechanics
60/40 base/variable; monthly payouts; accelerator after 110% attainment.
SPIFFs for Pod mix and cycle-time wins. Clawbacks limited to cancellations within defined rescission windows.
Optional ramp draw for first 60–90 days.
- Compensation: Base $60,000–$70,000 | OTE $100,000–$125,000 (60/40 plan, uncapped commission) + mileage/travel reimbursement, PTO & benefits
Growth Path
Consistent performance on Backyard Pods unlocks eligibility to sell Prefab Homes/ADUs (larger, more complex projects).
