The company manufactures and installs Backyard Pods and Prefab Homes/ADUs under one roof: design, permitting, site work, installation, inspection. San Jose HQ, Bay Area core market, growing L.A. footprint. Funding is strong, operations are integrated, and the delivery organization is built to support credible expectation-setting.

Role Summary

Own the consult-to-close motion across both product lines. You’ll handle inside calling and virtual discovery (or accept hot handoffs), lead on-site consultations to surface constraints and frame trade-offs, build optioned proposals, negotiate, close, and partner with permitting/installation to protect timelines and margin.

What You’ll Do
  • Inside calling & virtual meetings: Rapid first contact or fast handoff acceptance; disciplined discovery; create a compelling reason for the on-site.

  • On-site leadership (Pods + Homes/ADUs): Identify setbacks, easements, access, utilities; align solution design and pricing; leave with clear next steps and ownership of the timeline.

  • Proposal strategy & negotiation: Present optioned proposals; defend value; manage multi-stakeholder decisions without default discounting; secure signatures.

  • Delivery partnership: De-risk early with permitting/installation; minimize change orders; keep schedules realistic and visible.

  • Run the number: Maintain a dollar-weighted forecast at ±10–15% accuracy; keep CRM stages clean; mentor juniors on feasibility, framing, and objection handling.

Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 3–7+ years in consultative, field-based residential sales with documented wins in the $25k–$250k+ range.

  • Capabilities: Command of phone/video and in-person selling; confident price and margin defense; multi-stakeholder control.

  • Feasibility literacy: Credible on zoning basics, setbacks, utilities; sound judgment on when to loop in technical specialists.

  • Traits: Accountable operator with precise notes, disciplined calendar, and leadership-level communication.

Success Metrics (90–180 Days)
  • Conversion & margin: On-site→Proposal and Proposal→Close at or above team median; strong dollar-weighted close rate with price integrity.

  • Velocity & accuracy: Shorter consult→close; forecast at ±10–15%.

  • Customer & delivery outcomes: Positive homeowner sentiment; minimal change-order friction; installation start dates protected.

  • Team impact: Visible improvements to talk tracks, pricing frames, and feasibility rhythm; support for junior development.

Compensation Mechanics
  • 50/50 base/variable; monthly payouts with tiered accelerators (e.g., 1.25× at 110%, 1.5× at 125%+).

  • Revenue credit weighted for complexity on Homes/ADUs; commission tied to target margin bands.

  • SPIFFs for cycle-time wins and multi-stakeholder closes.

  • Compensation: Base $75,000–$90,000 | OTE $125,000–$155,000 (50/50 plan, uncapped commission) + mileage/travel reimbursement, PTO & benefits;

Pathways to Senior-Lead and Team Lead as volume scales; input on pricing frameworks and feasibility playbooks.
