Vice President of Finance

Position Overview

Axe Recruiting is partnering with a growing financial services organization to hire a Vice President of Finance. This role will oversee day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and accounting functions while supporting executive leadership.

The Vice President of Finance will play a key role in managing financial processes, improving reporting visibility, and supporting organizational growth. This position requires a hands-on finance leader comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations
• Manage accounting and reporting functions
• Supervise financial close processes
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Monitor departmental expenses
• Support financial discipline across the organization

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly financial reporting
• Develop executive dashboards
• Track performance against budget
• Analyze revenue and expenses
• Provide financial insights to leadership
• Assist with forecasting and planning

Accounting Oversight

• Oversee general ledger and reconciliations
• Manage month-end close
• Support year-end close processes
• Maintain accounting procedures
• Improve accounting workflows
• Ensure documentation accuracy

Operational Support

• Partner with leadership teams
• Support budgeting processes
• Assist with vendor management
• Monitor financial controls
• Identify cost-saving opportunities
• Improve financial processes

Leadership

• Support finance team development
• Partner with executive leadership
• Provide operational finance guidance
• Support strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• 7+ years of finance or accounting experience
• Leadership experience in finance
• Strong accounting and reporting background
• Experience managing close processes
• Budgeting and forecasting experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial services experience
• Trading firm experience
• Broker-dealer experience
• CPA preferred
• Experience supporting executive leadership
